unrelated, the answer to my riddle wasn't a watch.

A watch is probably just as good an answer though, so I'll give it to you. It was a ring, like a diamond ring.

The way you're blood moves under your skin could probably be described as a covered stream, and rings wrap around fingers. Rings are similar to chain links but also wedding rings are things that "link" people together. The eye is the diamond and the golden gleam is obviously the ring part.
