I went back to look at my ratings for the series so far and I think the first book, Every Heart a Doorway, and In an Absent Dream have been my favorites.

Oh, I absolutely love cozy mysteries! A significant portion of my read list is cozy mysteries, especially culinary cozies. 😊

Ummm...75? I think you've hit it? 😂😂😂

58421 Isn't it wonderful discovering new genres to love??

I'm a huge fan of The Hunger Games series. I've read the first of The Magicians series, not sure why I didn't continue. I'll have to look into the others. I've read a book or two from V.E. Schwab, Gabrielle Zevin, and Emilia Hart. Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin stands out bc of the nostalgia and I unintentionally visited the Glass Flowers exhibit (it was absolutely lovely.)

58421 I love that Carmilla - Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu: Annotated is on your list. I was recommended it by a huge fan of the book and character.

I hope books can give you a bit of a brain break from your science based courses, when you get a chance to read.

Bummer about the record number of DNFs but good on you for not wasting time on books you're not interested in!

58421 Yay, Monica! You did it! Congratulations on hitting your goal!

It's awesome that last month was a really good reading month for you and you found some great books. Always feels great when that happens. I'm excited to see what number of books you end up, too!

I completely agree! Challenges definitely do help push one to explore new genres and authors. I remember a time when I basically read 4-5 authors. Silly me. Thank goodness they were prolific authors, but still... I obviously missed out on so much.

Glad you're reading better books to make up for the stinker! I am still enjoying my books. Been binging on some mangas, which are always fun to read.

Such a good problem to have! Too many good books!

We're a huge fan of the Sisters Grimm series by Michael Buckley. Listened to the books on many a road trip. I don't know why we've never read any of this other books. Might have to check out The Weirdies.

58421 Congratulations on hitting your goal, D.L.! Way to go! Hope there were many new favorite authors and books!

And you've got this! Two months is a good amount of time to find some 5 star reads!

The year is still young, Cole! You've got this!

I see you're getting in your horror reads for October. I should do a re-read of The Lottery, The Tell-Tale Heart, and The Cask of Amontillado. Hmmm, and since I just read a retelling of The Fall of the House of Usher, I should read that as well...

My reading is indeed going well. I've hit my Goodreads challenge but still working on yearly challenges.

58421 That's absolutely fantastic that you got so many great recommendations from friends, family, and librarians, Bev! I'm so glad your books led you on an adventure. I've been reading many wonderful books, too. Any books or authors you recommend?

58421 Woohoo! Congratulations on crushing your goal, Carolyn! You rock! I think you should definitely aim for a much bigger number of books next year!

Yeah, Trials of Apollo was a bit more mature. I just took it as it is appealing to the audience who first read Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
