Hello everyone,Summer is coming and it is time for my annual reread. Every spring I am overwhelmed with this urge to read Good Omens as nothing cheers up a sunny day better than apocalypse. When September comes American Gods are waiting for me...
Anyone else with annual rereading habits?
Douglas Adams and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is the cornerstone of comical scifi. And definitely worth to read. But most of us want to go beyond that and sometimes finding a good humorous scifi is hard to come by.I really enjoyed Scalzi's Redshirt. It was a fast, light read, just perfect for a summer day when you can stop to enjoy. I really loved Scalzi's The Android's Dream. It was well written and the story was compelling. When I read it I forgot the world around me.
I liked Yahtzee Croshaw's Jam, it had an excellent start, but the ending was a bit of disappointment (at least for me). His Will Save the Galaxy for Food is humorous scifi, but I didn't like it. It wasn't as good as his Mogworld or Jam.
Do leave suggestions to the thread and you can create new topics for the folder, anything that tickles you
Hello,I made this group for those who want to find a good humorous book to read. And to those who love to discuss about books.
A little bit info about me: I read anything I can get my hands on, but comical fantasy and scifi is closest to my heart. I can help but respect those who can make me giggle and can blow my mind with their cleverness. I work at a bookshop and I constantly have to stop myself from adopting all the new books. If I'm not reading or writing, I'm in the woods, hiding from my husband and reading there ;)
Welcome everyone!
