I am a "series junkie" and use this site all the time.

Thanks for sharing, Kristie. Good article.

Your narration was great, and it is a sweet and engaging story. Thanks.
Janice--Rebecca Cantrell's Hannah Vogel books are, by far, one of my favorite mystery series. Not like the collaboration with Rollins at all. I highly recommend all of Cantrell's Hannah reads. Thanks, Deborah. I have the first one ready to start soon. I have been looking forward to it, so glad to hear the good recommendation.

I will keep the print version as my plan if I decide to try it again.
Travis of NNY wrote: Love sigma but book 1 Sandstorm is my least favorite and is more a prequelost of main characters come in book 2. A lot of his stand alone are good I recommend Amazonia but yeah Blood Gospel just didn't float my boat. I may read the next book Innocent Blood in print to see if it is any different I switched from print to audio on blood gospel . Ha! I was doing audio, and thought of switching to print, we shall see! I am going to give the Sigma Force books a try.
Dee wrote: "Janice - I think you need to read some of his Sigma series to understand The Blood Gospel - the most recent book in it that I read ties into it, I think"One of my Goodreads friends has recommended the Sigma series to me, and I do plan to read those. I also have Rebecca Cantrell's A Trace of Smoke: the First Hannah Vogel Mystery series on my to-read list; I hope I like them better than this joint effort. And if reading those makes me want to try The Blood Gospel again, I am willing to give it another try. Thanks, Dee.
After being more than half way through (8 out of 15 discs) I have had to give up on The Blood Gospel by James Rollins and Rebecca Cantrell, it is just too convoluted for me. The narrator was pretty good--Christian Backous. Now I have started The Recipe Box by Sandra Lee. It is a very fast read, and more a chick lit flavor than what I usually read, but the excellent narration by Xe Sands is making it enjoyable.
I am not an Audible member, but luckily I did not purchase this audio version but borrowed it from my local library. Listening to a sample first, or reading reviews, would be a good practice, but I always seem to be in a big hurry!

Glad this was helpful info for you, Patricia. I think I am going to try to get the print copy so I can read, and I may listen too, will just have to see.
I am having so many problems with The Light Between Oceans. The narrator is Noah Taylor and his voice drops so much at the end of sentences or phrases, it almost seems like he is mumbling. His voice sounds fine when I can hear him, but I am just catching words here and there a lot of the time. I have been so looking forward to this book, and I have a group of friends who are waiting for me to finish so we can discuss, so this is quite frustrating! Does anyone have any suggestions?
I just finished One Thousand White Women: The Journals of May Dodd by Jim Fergus. I really enjoyed this "alternative" historical fiction, and the narration by Laura Hicks was very well done.
The first books I listened to that included songs were in the "Ballad" series by Sharyn McCrumb; these are mysteries set in the Appalachian mountains, and the songs picked to accompany each book were traditional music pieces from that region. I really enjoyed the addition of the music. More recently I listened to Margaret Atwood's The Year of the Flood, which included songs written specifically for that book, and I loved the songs. I have since purchased the music CD. I look forward to listening to "Upstaged".
Whew! I finally finished Gone Girl Friday night, and am so glad to be on to something else. This is my review:http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
I started Pure by Julianna Baggott. I think I am going to like it.

It's kind of like the Twilight series, my daughter and I have seen all the movies except the last one, and each time we say, I will be so glad when this series is over! Somehow, though, we are still compelled to keep going to see the movies, except we wait until they are at the cheap theater. Kind of crazy!

I agree, please, No Sequel!

I am almost through with Gone Girland I will be so glad when it is over! I hate the book, and can't put it down! But as so many others have said, the narration is excellent. Julia Whelan even sounds like Kirby Heyborne when she is quoting Nick.
Sandra aka Sleo, I too loved Unbroken; it was probably my favorite book last year.

Kate Wilhelm is one of my very favorite authors. However I have read all of her books in print. But I have just downloaded her latest, "The Fullness of Time", which is narrated by Marguerite Gavin. I am looking forward to it!
