A mitigating circumstance is that the Hoopla books on my favorites list are all available for me at Libby with little or no queue-ing.
I just finished Jess Kidd's novel Mr. Flood's Last Resort, same narrator as Gulls Nest - not sure which one I liked more! 👍👍

Grateful they bought Gulls Nest as a three-book deal!

Murder at Gulls Nest is the first of a three-book mystery contract for Kidd. A nun just out of the convent after 30 years, three murders, Kidd as author ... praise be the publisher signed for two sequels!

I'm listening to this Kidd book because I loved that one!
Working on Mr. Flood's Last Resort, featuring an outstanding writer, Jess Kidd, teamed up with an awesome narrator, Aoife Mcmahon.
I never did Emily Organ's series featuring reporter Penny Green. However, I'm listening to the second one in the spinoff series featuring her and widow Emma Langley (a secondary character in one of Penny's stories it seems). A bit of a red flag that when I went to listen recently my first thought was "Three more hours to go still ..."
This is it - we've reached the end!Partway through a terrific collection:
. I put this one aside near the end, so plan to complete it this month:

The Railway Detective series reminded me a lot of the Detective Lavender series, especial..."Thanks for the reminder to listen to newer Lavenders, as I'd put the series aside a while ago. I've seen mention of the railway series, so definitely on my radar now.

My library has Fife available via Hoopla, so put it on my TBR.
Maybe I'm just too much of a curmudgeon? Listened to the (free) Audible The Wind in the Willows, excellent narration, didn't specify but is an abridged production, which worked for me.Overall, I found it dated, difficult to get through. Loved the animals-as-humans premise, but the story, no. Toad, himself, was just too narcissistic. The happy ending more disbelief than I could handle.
Finished Miss Austen yesterday - good job of using Cassandra to give background to the Austen family story. Outstanding narration, recommended for Jane-ites (as I believe is the expression).
Starting this month with a detective story: To Love and Be Wise, as well as historical fiction: Miss Austen.
