Thanks for the news about Bradley's short story, John! I always end up listening to Flavia books in small increments so that it'll last longer (well...sort of, anyway!). I'm so glad to have another little story about my favorite character!
Some of my kids' favorites, that their dad and I also loved, are:The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie,Out of My Mind, The Hero's Guide to Saving Your Kingdom, Percy Jackson and the Olympians Boxed Set, Harry Potter Boxset, Wonder, Eragon, Ender's Game, and The Graveyard Book.
A recent addition to my list of favorite books includes Out of My Mind by Sharon M. Draper, which is wonderful as an audiobook. My 3 oldest kids and my husband have also listened to it and loved it - it really gave us a new perspective on how one might experience life with a disability. I can't recommend it highly enough!
My favorite of all-time is Alan Bradley's Flavia de Luce series. The narrator for these books has really grown on me and, in my opinion, brings Flavia's character to life. I can't wait until the 7th book in the series - As Chimney Sweepers Come to Dust - comes out next year.
I'm currently listening to Still Life by Louise Penny. I'm enjoying it more than I'd expected I would.

How about a Kindle? Perhaps you could take advantage of Amazon and Audible's $100 off deal, get him a Kindle (on which the font size can be enlarged) for about $50, then send Audible books to his device? The Audible subscription that's required with this deal would get him 1 credit per month at around $15 each month (a 1-year commitment is required ). I did this myself and have been quite happy so far. : )
Alan Bradley's Flavia DeLuce series is great, if you like historical mysteries. I enjoy the narrator, but I've noticed that a lot of people don't - it'd be a good idea to check out a sample first. Elizabeth Peters' Amelia Peabody books are very enjoyable, also. Like the Flavia books, they are humorous historical mysteries.
