To add to the question, which version did everyone see first?I LOVE the BBC version. I think it is one of the best book adaptions ever done-- the only realy liberty they took was the Darcy taking a swim scene. And is any woman going to complain about that?
The Keira Knightly version has its good points -- I liked the way the Bennett parents were portrayed. It was a more sympathetic version than we normaly see. What I didn't like was the very Heathcliffe-esque portrayal of Darcy; Darcy is suppressed emotion that occasionally can't be contained. I think it was the scene will him emerging from the fog that made me roll my eyes.
Anyway, I will alwasy be a fan of the BBC version (aka, the Colin Firth version:)
Brenda, I recall the Knightly version ending with Elizabeth and Darcy sitting at Pemberly after they got married. I think he was calling her Mrs. Darcy and I have a vague recollection of them sitting by water. I'll have to rewatch to confirm.
