Congratulations, Purple! And, as always, thanks for setting up all the challenges, Almeta. I really enjoy tracking my reading.
All my goals are very similar to last year. I am adding Authorization to re-read and catchup on several Brandon Sanderson series. ⚾ Authorization
(books by Brandon Sanderson) = 16
⚾ Back in the Saddle
(re-reads longer than picture books) = 21
⚾ Serial Eyes
(anything in a series except the first book, also excluding re-reads) = 28
⚾ Home Alone
(books acquired in 2022) = 34
⚾ Left Over Stew
(books owned for longer than a year) = 8
⚾ Short Cut
(previously unread picture books) = 212
I'm doing really well on my challenges this year.. I'm even a little ahead in all of them. Which is good because July is going to be busy with not a lot of reading time.

One year, as a challenge to myself, I read many Caldecott Medal children's books .
I'd like to add to you..."
I love your suggestions. In fact, I've already read both! If you have any other favorites to suggest, I'm open. I think it was back in 2013 that I read all the Caldecott Medals I hadn't read before. I think I'll go check to make sure I've gotten the winners since then... Nope, missing 3. And then a new one will be announced January 24th.
Thankfully it stopped after a couple of days. I'm not sure what was going on. I'll have to remember about that form if it every comes back.
You've got some mighty strong goals there, Almeta!Mine for 2022:
⚾ Back in the Saddle
(re-reads) = 19
⚾ Serial Eyes
(anything in a series except the first book) = 34
⚾ Home Alone
(books acquired in 2021) = 29
⚾ Left Over Stew
(books owned for longer than a year and still want to get around to reading) = 12
⚾ Short Cut
(previously unread picture books) = 218
Does anyone know where you go on goodreads to complain about a new "feature"? There used to be a feedback group of some sort, but I can't find it.FYI, the reason I'm asking is because I have to complete a captcha for every time I submit a review. Am I the only one? The part that really really gets me is when I have to post a review multiple times because goodreads didn't save it correctly and I have to captcha each and every time.
I am significantly behind in every one of my goals except Serial Eyes. I have been keeping up on new releases in series I follow. For some reason, I've been on a romance binge and didn't plan on that when making my goals. On the plus side, my total book count is way up (since these romance books are generally short and sweet).Despite 2021 being a better year (so far, overall) than 2020, my reading goals did better last year. Anyone else noticing yourself reading less because we aren't all locked up at home?
⚾ Reality Check (non-fiction books that are not picture books) = 24
⚾ Back in the Saddle
(re-reads) = 25
⚾ Serial Eyes
(anything in a series except the first book) = 30
⚾ Home Alone
(books acquired in 2020) = 18
⚾ Left Over Stew
(books owned for longer than a year and still want to get around to reading) = 16
⚾ Authorization
(by Eva Ibbotson) = 9
⚾ Shelving Unit
(Christmas books!) = 15
⚾ Short Cut
(previously unread picture books) = 217
We are down to the wire, and I think I'm going to make it this year!Shelving Unit (picture books): 212/177
Reality Check (non-picture book nf): 24/24
Back in the Saddle: 37/36
Serial Eyes (sequels in a series): 44/48
Home Alone (books acquired in 2019): 24/25
Left Over Stew (books I own that I still want to get around to): 13/12
Classics can be a hard one. I did the challenge for a couple of years and then dropped it. I intended to read long and/or meaty classics like David Copperfield and The Travels of Marco Polo. Instead, I'd get way behind and read short and easy classics like Rubaiyat and The Art of War. They were awesome, but I wish I'd read some of the longer ones too.
Looks like you are in a good place, Roz!I'm doing quite well in most of my goals. The quarantine was/is great for some of my goals, like reading books I own. When the library was closed, my picture books and sequels goals suffered. I've been able to catch up on picture books, and hope to get sequels up in the next month.
Shelving Unit (picture books): 146/177 (82%)
Reality Check (non-picture book nf): 20/24 (83%)
Back in the Saddle: 33/36 (92%)
Serial Eyes (sequels in a series): 32/48 (67%)
Home Alone (books acquired in 2019): 20/25 (80%)
Left Over Stew (books I own that I still want to get around to): 11/12 (92%)
I added a Back in the Saddle goal. I keep looking around at my personal library and thinking about all the books that want to be read again. And I upped some of my goals. Now to actually set up the challenges and add the links!
As always, thanks to Almeta for putting this together every year.

For me, left-over stew consists of books that I that I've owned for at least a year and I haven't even come close to reading. And that I still want to read. I never intend to finish the whole stew, but I do like challenging myself to read some each year. Before you ask, I use home-alone for the books acquired in the last year. It helps me. :)
And the Award Goes to..........3/3Back In the Saddle...................14/15
Doorstops..................................9/8
Home Alone..............................17/23
Left Over Stew..........................12/23
Serial Eyes..................................27/25
Shelving Unit.............................171/191
Either done of almost done with 4 challenges. I'm sadly behind in the other 3. However, I feel confident about the Shelving Unit, which is is new-to-me picture books. I'm pretty sure I can find the time to read twenty new picture books before the year is over. The home alone and the left-over stew? Sigh. Looks like I'll have even more stew next year!
