L1: The TrojansL2: thatshe doesnt know what she is doing or what she can grow into.
L3: Most of the time. we think that we know the people and yea we do a little bit. this is a hard question to answer. it's a yes and a no. in high school yes its very common. in the real adult world it's not.
L1: She has to draw a tree.L2: The monster. The guy who raped her.
L3: a lot of my friends left me in sophmore year too...i strated doing bad stuff with a different crowd of people.
L1: Not really, shes been ostrasized.L2: she lost the battle with the frozen turkey. she gets an idea for a new art project.
L3: no, i was pretty liked throughout high school, i never had anything really traumatic happen either. i just got into a lot of trouble.
L1: Men are no-no'sL2: I would put myself in the...well i fit into most of them. that's how i am at GHHS too.
L3: Mr. Freeman. they care but they still push me to succeed.
L1: she got assigned to do a tree. she has all year long to work on it.L2: i have to be honest, i think i might have of skipped over that part. do you know where it would be? what pages i mean, i will gladly read it and tell you the answer. Thank you Will.
L3: She got raped...that puts a 2 ton weight on your shoulders...i would be depressed too.
L1: Melinda goes to Merryweather high formally the home of the Trojans.L2: Everyone hates her after she called the cops on a party where she was raped. no one trusts her.
L3: I cant really. Ive lived in both poor and "wealthy" homes. but i cant see a similarity we have in common.
L1: her friend Heather comes from Ohio.L2: she doesnt tell the cops or operator about her being raped.
L3: if i ever get introuble i tend to want to take care of it myself. Melinda on the other hand just satyed quiet, didnt do anything about it and she got really bad. not bathing, not doing her work in classes. i wouldnt let it get that bad.
L1: Mr. FreemanL2: depends on what you say the first half of the book is...the first two sections? well she doesn't really express any feelings except through her tree that she is drawing for art.
L3: I don't read that much...im more of a movie guy. but if i have to...i would compare her with a character from a book entitled Geography Club. I read this my freshman year. and from what i remember, the main character was a gay male in high school. he was hiding just like Melinda did, but he came over that fear faster than Melinda did.
L1: she lives in Syracuse, New York.L2: She called the cops on the party at a big party where she was raped.
L3: i cant really relate to her that much. i guess i might bite my lip a little when im nervous and i might want to go in my room to chill if im mad.
L1: she is made to draw a tree. she picks the slip of paper telling her to do so.L2: She hates it. she starts drawing it simple how you think a tree would look like.
L3: she gets to express her self, let her imagination come through. she can learn how to draw, get her feelings out. and let people see who she really is.
L1: her name is Melinda SordinoL2: she hides herself away in an old abandoned janitorial closet.
L3: well for a couple years, ages 11-13, i was really depressed. my step-dad killed himself, now my birth father didn't even know about me till i was 4...my step dad had been around since i was 2. he was my dad. having him just disappear left me alone. my mom was sick, bed ridden, and i had to take care of my sister all by myself. Like her my grades had been good, but after something traumatic like that...it affected me drastically. they started to drop. i got kicked out of football because of it. sure i was only 11 but you try feeding your 5 year old sister, picking her up after school, not having anything to eat. it gets to you after awhile. now i live in gig harbor with my grandparents. they take good care of me and im not depressed as much anymore. i know where shes coming from, i just took the higher road.
L1: the art teachers name is Mr. Freeman.L2: I think she is just trying to fit in. so she is faking all of it. why do most people be "preppy" or "skater"? they want to fit in.
L3: Mr. Freeman. i think i am most like him because i want people to succeed and ill go to any length for them to do so. i also am pretty hard on people sometimes but its all for the greater good.
L1: she was getting decent grades at first. but, after problems at school...they start to fall. she maintains a good grade in art though.L2: She sits in a corner, she is all alone. she gets food flung at her the first day...i wouldn't want to be around that either.
L3: My Freshman year was probably my best. i made friends that i still have today. they are originally from Goodman so i didn't get to know them from my 1 year at Kopachuck. i moved from Boise, Idaho. i had many friends over there...they weren't all good but i had them. when i started to do stupid stuff at school, i lost a lot of them. Melinda had a strong base of friends and lost them, making it seem like a bigger loss. but for me i came into high school knowing nobody. I don't know if it makes any sense but it is a lot easier to start from scratch.
L1:Melinda finds an envelope taped onto her locker.L2: I think it's about the tribulations and harshness the world is on a high school girl.
L3: well i think that she knows whats going on but she has this image of high school and that is skewing her actual perceptions of what is going on around her.
Q1: She isnt getting good grades...theyre getting better.Q2: She sits in a quiet corner...doesnt talk to anybody.
Q3:mine was much better. i moved from Idaho and started all over.
L1: Women naked is art; what are men naked?L2: What "clan" would you put yourself in?
L3: What teacher of Mel's most relates to one of your teachers, past or present. Explain.
