I guess my point is that emotional eating issues can override the body's natural tendency to stop eating when one is full and then one can gain weight.
Portion control does matter. I have been eating plant strong for 2 years and I can gain just as much weight on my no-fat plant food with only 1 oz. nuts a day diet. My problem is apparently using chewing to relax and unwind and deal with stress. But eating this way does help and I've been able to maintain somewhere between 127-128 for a year. But I still watch my calories.
