I'll hopefully finish A Tale of Two Cities later today. I'm also reading Adam Bede at the end of September which i hope to finish this month. I read a bunch of science fiction short stories that are in the public domain last month.I'm just trying to finish that I haven't finished yet from this year this month. Two of them are newer paperbacks.

Yes, I thought it could go all year. It's easy to find books and many are not intimidating.

Maybe do a poll two weeks before the next month to decide what book we should read. Even if we, mods, are the only ones read..."
I thought of reading books with a color in the title. The colors could be the well known colors, but could also be colors such as crimson, scarlet, peach, etc.
There are so many books that could qualify for that and we could see a wide range of books selected.
I'm still reading my August book. My health problems have been acting up for around four months. I will be getting back to A Tale of Two Cities probably this weekend.
I finished reading my July selection, The La Chance Mine Mystery by Susan Morrow Jones. This is a book I picked because of the title. I didn't know anything about it or the author. It's pretty much a combination of western, mystery and romance. It's a good book and different than what I expected it to be. I gave it a rating of five stars.I'm now about to start a reread of a book that I read over 43 years when I was in high school. The book is A Tale of Two Cities. It was probably my favorite book that I had to read for English class.
I finished reading The Scarlet Pimpernel. It was the first time I've read it and thoroughly enjoyed it. I gave it a rating of 5 stars.
I finished The Yazoo Mystery on Monday. It is a mystery, but not a murder mystery. It is a fictional story about some investigations here in the United States jus after our entry into World War I. I enjoyed the story and gave it a rating of 4 stars.I've decided to read The Scarlet Pimpernel for my June read.
I forgot to select a book for this month until yesterday. I went onto Project Gutenberg and got a list of the books with titles that start with Y. I picked The Yazoo Mystery, not knowing anything about the book or the author. I am now ten chapters into it and am enjoying it.

OMG! you are read..."

Sawako wrote: "Hi, everyone! How's your April reading?
Here is my reading progress so far:
Done
The Murder on the Links
Currently Reading
Poirot Investigates - 3%
The Leavenworth Case - 12%"
I read The Leavenworth Case last month.
So far this month I read The Secret Adversary and A Strange Disappearance.I am currently reading The Murder on the Links.
I did read 2 more books that qualified for March. the first one is The Mischief Maker by E. Phillips Openheim. It's pretty much a political/espionage thriller. I rated it 4 stars. The second one is The Moon Rock by Arthur J. Rees. It's the first book I've read by this author and is a mystery. It confused me at first, but got better after the murder took place. I rated it 4 stars.
I am now starting The Secret Adversary by Agatha Christie for this month..
I finished reading The Man in the Brown Suit. It is full of action along with Agatha Christie's humor added in spots which makes it a very enjoyable book. I gave it a rating of 4 stars.
I finished reading The Food of the Gods earlier today. At times while reading it, I felt like I was watching a sci-i/horror B movie from the 40's or 50's where a scientific experiment goes awry. At other times had trouble staying awake while reading it. I gave it a rating of 3 stars.

To be honest..."
Welcome to the group Carol! I read sci-fi books that are in the public domain at times. Two of my favorite authors are Jules Verne and H.G. Wells.
I'm sorry that I haven't been very active for a while. I've had a lot of problems with my migraines. They've gotten so bad That I now have a cane after a couple falls in December.I plan on putting up a poll around the middle of March for the next book to read for the Intimidating Reads. We will start reading the book at the beginning of April. I'd like to start it sooner, but I'm busy as one of the co-hosts of March Mystery Madness which is a month long readathon dedicated to reading mysteries during March. We have it on Goodreads, BookTube, Instagram, Twitter and Discord so that will be keeping me busy. Don't worry, I already know that I'l be reading at least a couple books that are in the public domain including my March book for the monthly reads.
