I agree about the solo work. However there is a short story called Prospero One (with Simon Bradshaw) that I enjoyed greatly.

I think my favourites are the NASA trilogy. I'm not sure why. I also like Flood/Ark, so perhaps it's because they take place in more contemporary times.
