Hello! I'm reading The College Fear Factor: How Students And Professors Misunderstand One Another
The part I just finished was actually rather depressing as it indicated students think good teaching is basically giving them facts to memorize that will be on a test and they're a lot less impressed with teaching methods that encourage them to apply what they're learning to different situations. =(

Hi there! Is this group still going? I'm an adjunct English instructor in southern California...various community colleges. I teach developmental and transfer level composition courses. I'm hoping to find some reading recommendations as well as some people to discuss books and teaching practices with. =)
