A Police Officer called the station on his radio."I have an interesting case here.
An old lady shot her husband for stepping on the floor she just mopped. "
"Have you arrested the woman?"
"Not yet. The floors still wet."
A nun, badly needing to use the restroom, walked into a local bar.The place was hopping with music and loud conversation and every once in a while, the lights would go out. Each time this happened, the place would erupt into cheers.
However, when the revelers saw the nun, the room went dead silent.
She walked up to the bartender, and asked,
“May I please use the restroom?”
The bartender replied, “Okay, but I should warn you that there is a statue of a naked man in there wearing only a fig leaf.”
“Well, in that case, I’ll just look the other way,” said the nun.
So the bartender showed the nun to the back of the bar.
After a few minutes, as the lights went out again and the nun came back out, the whole place stopped to give the nun a loud, enthusiastic round of applause.
She went to the bartender and said, “Sir, I don’t understand. Why did they applaud for me just because I went to the restroom?”
“Well, now they know you’re one of us,” said the bartender. “Would you like a drink?”
“No thank you, but, I still don’t understand,” said the puzzled nun.
“You see,” laughed the bartender, “every time someone lifts the fig leaf on that statue, the lights go out.”

The lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, “Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?”
She again replied,”Why yes, I do. I’ve known Mr. Smith since he was a youngster, too. He’s lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can’t build a normal relationship with anyone, and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women. One of them was your wife. Yes, I know him.”
The defense attorney nearly died.
The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench and, in a very quiet voice, said, “If either of you idiots asks her if she knows me, I’ll send you both to the electric chair.”

If your still stuck while waiting for more of LJ's books, then here's a list you might want to have a look at.I just had a quick look on the internet & this came up, apparently someone else has asked the question before. here's there response.There are so many! I'll order them from favourite to less favourites (all are wonderful authors, although JR Ward is the best in my opinion)
Dark Hunter series - Sherrilyn Kenyon (mixes Greek mythology with vampire/shapeshifter lore. All the men are fighters, so are some of the women. Some of the books are emotional, some hilarious, all are good. Plus - there is over 20 of them! I think that indicates how good they are!)
Immortals After Dark – Kresley Cole (these are HILARIOUS. Mainly about Valkyries – petite female warriors who are HARDCORE and completely reckless. Each book follows a different couple and these are some of my fave books)
Anita Blake series - Laurell K Hamilton (these follow the same female lead, however)
Lords of the Underworld - Gena Showalter (men that harbout demons inside them. They each find the love of their lives, the women help soften their hard exteriors)
Atlantis - Alyssa Day (men who never get emotional with women, suddenly find themelves meeting some that they can't let go of.. Atlantis myths, pretty nifty)
Fever series - Karen Marie Moning (about the same girl, the male character is so different from anyone I've ever read about. You aren't sure if he is good or bad, but he is so intense!)
Night Huntress - Jeanienne Frost (these follow the same female lead but also have spin off novels)
Georgina Kincaid - RIchelle Mead (these follow a succubus who works for hell. They are quirky and a great plot. The demons & angels in the books are hilarious!)
Final Prophecy series - Jessica Anderson (this is JR Ward's old editor, I do believe. They are intense and JR Ward fully supports them)
there is also Christine Feehan - the Dark series (vampires / shifters )then there is the Leopard series( shape-shifters/soldiers)oh also the Ghost-walker series ( mutant soldiers ) yeah I know, but they are really good once you get started
Alternatively, I read a lot of 'historical romances' about Highlanders in medieval times. It's awesome because you get to imagine what men were like before hair gel and skin tight jeans :P

howdy all, its been a while since my last post, but if you haven't heard, here's some new updatesShort Rides is an anthology compilation of two novellas and one short story in the Rough Riders world. These are NOT meant to be read as standalone stories, but are a peek into favorite character's lives after the happily ever after...
The stories included in the Short Rides anthology are:
King of Hearts* -- Deputy Cam McKay deals with a murder/suicide case on Valentine's Day.
Rough Road -- Chassie, Trevor and Edgard Glanzer spend a romantic weekend away from the ranch and kids celebrating their anniversary...only to return home to face their biggest challenge yet.
