And I understand about the numerous plot bunnies...they are vicious little buggers.
Thank you, Jennifer. I love the feeling of getting so absorbed in the process that the story writes itself. You'll see-one day soon ;)
I wrote the first 13 chapters in about two months. Those were the ones that I entered into the contest. Then, once I picked it back up, about a year later, it took me about four weeks to finish the first draft, and read through, changing bits and pieces in the first 13 chapters. And I don't know how I come up with these ideas. A lot of them are based on a single scene. For example, in Angel's Heart, I envisioned Sophie standing on the beach, it was raining, and the harder she cried, the heavier the rain fell.
What a great questions! As a little girl, I used to go to summer camp for a week every year. It was my favorite time, and I looked forward to it all year long-especially when life got difficult. So, when the time came to plot out A Season of Change, I thought back to my days at camp, the way I longed to be able to capture those memories again, or the carefree freedom we had for just a few days. From there, the story just unfolded and Meredith and Jonathon were born.
