To me writing is not a matter of choice at all. I have no idea why I write, I only know that the experience of writing gives me a kind of pleasure that I can't get anywhere else in life, and it's miles away from the experience of reading (which is also very enjoyable indeed).
Perhaps I'm writing now because that's what I've been doing for twenty years... Like coffee drinking, smoking and listening to music...
