Try The Crash of Hennington by Patrick Ness. A little Tom Robbinsesque as well.

Yeah. He said next summer, and a sequel to A Dirty Job will be out the year after (which he has also already finished).

He said he liked the Shakespeare rewrite thing, and I think his last mention said something along those lines.

Just spoke to me. The humor in the characters' struggles with their own egos in a ridiculous situation.

A Dirty Job is my favorite book ever, hands down. Just above Tom Robbins' Jitterbug Perfume.
