"I'm not like most of them," Joe said simply, shrugging as he spoke and took another bite of noodles. He loved noodles, ever since he went to China. "Why did you start teaching at the school?"
"I became a teacher here because," Joe started, taking the bowl in his hands and sitting down in a chair, "I wanted to show the world women are just as good as being leaders as men. Why?" He took a bite of noodles, then swallowed.
"Oh, I was. Very bored," Joe said, rolling his eyes at her and then at the noodles. He cleared his throat, not liking the silence around them. Wishing there wasn't any silence.
Joe shrugged, walking over to her, figuring Why not? Noodles are good. "Sure," he said, wondering if his good mood was going to last or not. It probrably was, since it was still strong when he left the building.
((Sorry, didn't say anyone posted.))Joe leaned on the thresh hold of the doorway, his arms crossed as he watched Knightley play the cello. He was always more of a piano person, in truth, but then again he liked classical music in general. He watched her silently.
Joe nodded to her polietly, stepping into her house with a wide step. "Ms. Banks. Always good to see you again," he told her, wondering why she wanted him to come in the first place, since it was obvious she didn't want to even speak to him.
Joe walked up the walkway to Knightley's house, sighing as he did so. Why didn't he decline to coming here? That's right, because he was bored and had nothing else to do. Duh. He knocked on her door.
"Didn't think that was gonna happen," Joe muttered, then turned around toward the building, since he still had to set up papers that he needed for class.
"I don't, do I? Well, Knightley, you don't know me either," Joe said, grinning crookedly. He never grinned straight, nor was his smile; it was all crooked.
"You don't seem like a deep thinker," Joe told her, as if he wanted to insult her which he really didnt.
Joe raised an eyebrow at her, then shook his head as his eyes rolled. "What are you thinking about?" he asked her curiously, not caring if it was a little personal. He was used to those kinds of questions, so it made no difference to him when he asked them.
Joe simply followed her, rolling his eyes. He was suprised about her looking at him like that, since most people didn't even look twice at him, and he wished things would stay that way.
"Oh. I didn't know I left," Joe said, chuckling then his brow furrowed for a second before smoothing back out. He wondered what the bloody hell Knightley was doing, looking at him.
"Who's back?" Joe asked stupidly, turning his head back to Knightley. He was starting to sound like he was in a daze, his grin starting to return. The sight of the sun made him feel much better.
Joe nodded, his grin fading to the usual stony look he always wore. He looked at the sunset, admiring the colors the sun made at this time of the day. He always loved it, even as a child.
Joe tilted his head, still grinning but it looked softer. Like a smile, though he didn't like to admit that he smiled sometimes. It was never at people. "What was good?" he asked her.
((Yeah. Sorry. I went on Vacation and my phone had no Wi-fi, so... Sorry bout that.))Joe grinned, raising an eyebrow. "Why not? You'd be a good secret," he joked. It was probrably one of the first he'd ever told, since he was usually very serious.
((I'm starting to pass out.))Joe rolled his eyes, crossing his arms. He didn't miss college. He was glad to be out of there, away from all the ignorant teachers that underestimated him so many times. Then where did he end up? Working for the CIA, that's where. He chuckled, shaking his head. That was an interesting summer. He turned around so he could see where he was headed.
