I had it pointed out to me I had tendency to use "Well" in conversation as in 'Well, we'd better get going...". Hopefully cured of that one, but yes, editing 100k words is a nightmare and things do slip through!!!

"Frisson" is my pet hate. I once read a well known HMB author (English) who must have used "frisson of sensation" on every other page. I did not finish the book! I will never use 'frisson' in my writing.
