Oh no! I have three copies now as I keep lending them out and I don't want to be without one! It's a remarkable story. Hope you find a replacement copy. :)
It would be The Red Tent by Anita Diamant for me. The character of Dinah has stayed with me like an old friend over many years.

I'm nearly finished and I think I'll need to mull it over for a few days before I review.
My son is 15 now so the days of reading to him are sadly over for us. Buddy reading is great. We still kind of do that...I read all his school English texts so we can talk about them. Make the most of it...special times. :)

That's so sad. It must be heartbreaking to have to stop doing what you love before you're ready to. For a writer to lose their eyesight, so cruel.

Reading Britt-Marie Was Here by Fredrik Backman. It always takes me a while to warm to Fredrik Backman's characters...but it's taking me a bit longer to warm to Britt-Marie than it did to Ove. I'm sure I'll love her by the end.

How are you going with it? I really enjoyed it, but it didn't grip me from the start either. It does get better. Suspend the logical part of your brain. :)

Free wifi at the Bright Brewery! It's gorgeous up here today, sitting by the Ovens River and surrounded by the mountains. I found a copy of News of the World at the local newsagency up here so HAD to buy it. :) Hope everyone's having a wonderful weekend and staying cool.

Thanks all for your concern for Charlie! They're pretty sure it's a virus so hopefully he'll be back to his normal, mischievous self in no time.Regarding reading in summer.....humidity sends me to sleep so as long as I'm under the air-con with a caffeine drip I'm ok!
