I didn't go to school in Australia and so wasn't forced into reading David Malouf's Fly Away Peter .

Which is definitely for the best because it's such a moving and important work and I'm glad it was a book I could choose to read and not be forced to by a curriculum.

My review of a fascinating find at a recent book fair The Sydney We Love. Might be hard to find a copy but highly recommended. Especially if you live in Sydney. It adds more layers of meaning to the city you live in.
