Hello Aussie readers!

I recently headed back to Uni, and as such am doing a statistics component for which I have to complete a study on social media use.

I wanted to look at device(s) used and hours spent on GRs, so I'm hoping you can help me by filling out the survey at the link below!

I always ended up with a case full of Aussie chocolate and various flavours of Tim Tams whenever I visit friends in the US. Though I did make them get me some of the Girl Scout Thin Mints in return :)

Our real sugar Coke is much nicer too, the stuff with the HFCS is just wrong.

The sweetness of the bread was too much for me too, and I have a very sweet tooth.

I may also be craving Poutine now too, this really is a dangerous thread!

Just finished Alchemy: a story of perfect murder and The Sandman, Vol. 1: Preludes and Nocturnes. Loved both, couldn't put them down (and may have sacrificed a few hours of sleep to finish them)

Reading The Jungle Book now and really enjoying it. I should also be reading If on a Winter's Night a Traveller but I just can't get into it.

I hate those periods when the words are just a blur on the page, that's when I know I've hit a reading slump. I've taken to reading comics when that happens, helps break the monotony of text only books.

I sadly went years without reading anything (with the exception of books aimed at preschoolers). In the last 4 or 5 years I've been increasing my read count again, but I'm still no where near the amount I read at school.

I'm not a huge fan, but I do love a scrape of it on toast with lots of butter and cheesymite scrolls!

My sister on the other hand will eat it by the spoonful, blargh. I even had a teacher who would mix it with hot water and drink it like tea...

Vegemite on toast was my morning sickness cure, gotta love those extra b-vitamins.

Might have to try one of those vegemite and lettuce sangas some day, they have me intrigued.

That's exactly how I have mine set up too. Then I also have folders for kids books (it's amazing how an e-reader can encourage a reluctant reader to read) which I'll still probably hang on to even after my kids have out grown them.

It should automatically sync with the Kindle app. You'll need to email the attachment to yourdevicename@kindle.com with 'yourdevicename' being the one associated with your device, you can check the associated email on your amazon account. That should upload it to your kindle cloud and you can download it to your device from there.


I'm partial Google Play Books app for my samsung phone and ipad. You upload your books to your google account and read them on any device you have connected to that account. Currently they need to be in epub format, since google doesn't read mobi, but that's pretty simple to convert using calibre.

I keep mine on my reader, though I also have a backup on my computer, just in case.
If I'm also using the reading app on my phone, I try to remember to delete them off there when I'm done, that said there's probably 3 or 4 I haven't deleted yet...

I just finished putting together a flat pack book case, I'd almost forgotten I had.
Now I have plenty of space too! for the moment anyway... time to re-organise my books :)

Went along to the Bendigo Easter Book Fair yesterday and came home with some bargains, for myself and my kids. In total 24 books for $37.50, pretty happy with myself, now I just need to find some shelf space...

My bookshelf is Impressive. Or at least it would be if I had room for more so I could take the rest of my books out of boxes...

Though the only bit that would not be me is the selling of books, I can't bear to part with any of my literary babies... (though I have been known to part with the odd double-up, and some of the baby books my kids have grown out of)

I got Designer, pretty spot on, since my qualifications are in Visual Arts.

Finished Coraline, started Strata and a Comic series Kingdom of Loathing, written by one of the creators of the game by the same name.

I'm a bit of a Marvel fangirl, so this years set of releases.
