The two books I read for my summer reading project were A Child Called "It" and The Diary of Anne Frank. Both of these books were recommended to me by fellow students and a previous English teacher. I had interest in both these novels because I thought that I could learn about the lives of other people and be exposed to some of the cruelties that some people have to face. There was a lot to learn from these books. I did not necessarily like them, due to the fact that they were somewhat depressing. However, I would recommend them because they both are eye-openers and these people's stories should be heard.

I chose the book, Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins as my fiction/fantasy assignment. I really liked the first book in the series and wanted to continue reading. The book is a continuation of Katniss Everdeen's adventures in the country of Panem. I enjoyed the book, however it left me wanting to read more, luckily for me, there was a third book in the trilogy. There was lots of action and the book was well developed. I would recommend this book for teens and adults, and for those who like fiction. This can be graphic and adventurous at times, so if you don't like that, then I would not recommend you read it.
