73030 I finished this book last weekend and I really liked it. There were only a couple of the short stories I skimmed because I didn't find them all that interesting (and they didn't really add anything to the over all book as far as I was concerned). It's the first book of his that I've actually finished. I'm glad to find a book of his that I finally enjoyed. I thought the ending was interesting and a good way of doing it. The kids were so interested in seeing Martians and by showing them their reflecting and declaring that they themselves were the Martians, I was really impressed by this ending. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys sci-fi or wanting to get a start on it. I gave it a 3/5.

73030 I read this about a year ago but all I could remember was that I wasn't really into it. So when it came up as a monthly read I decided to give it another try.

Turns out the second time wasn't any better for me. Once I started it again it started coming back to me. I just found the story seemed to go all over he place. There were times when I thought I was finally getting his writing style and then it would be gone. I think I just couldn't get into the characters because I've read other comics by him and loved them. Oh well can't say I didn't try

73030 I actually just started reading manga (slow start in life I guess) but my first manga was Fruits Basket, Vol. 1 and I'm only on volume 5. I've also gotten into the sailor moon series, the vampire knight serirs, and I'm liking this months read,Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Vol. 1. So I may have started late - only last month - but I think I've started out well.

73030 I'm glad this was suggested. I liked it and will likely read the rest of the series tonight :)
Although I just started getting into manga, I thought this was pretty dark. I didn't know until I read this thread that it was actually suppose to be and it wasn't just because I was use to reading stuff like sailor moon, fruits basket, and vampire knight - all good but very different.

(view spoiler) The art style is one I'm familiar with and enjoy. Now that I know there is an anime tv series and movie out there I'll be keeping an eye out to watch them - Which will make my husband so happy to know lol.
