I set up an event at third street stuff for my friend Diane. She put out a book and we are having a author meet/ book discussion on the 30th at 730pm. Can you guys make it?
Can we read the one about the guy who flips out from stress at work and goes about clobbering people at the health department with various blunt objects?
I have never used an e-reader, but I am sure they are fun. I am old school (word) and like the feel of having a book in hand and a stack on my shelf :)J
Might I suggest an organizational meeting for Sunday, August 26th? Say 7:30-ish at Common Grounds? If CG gets too college-studenty, then we can find another hole to crawl into.We can use this meeting to select a book/leader for the first review meeting and, for those who aren't acquainted, to get to know one another. And what the heck, if anyone has read anything cool as of late, we can have a chat about it.
Whatcha think?

Hello all and thanks so much for joining this fledgling book club. I hope to get things rolling soon.I have already mentioned it to some of you in person, but I would like to re-state what I was thinking about as far as our operating procedure....
Of course, everything is up for discussion, so please let me know if you have any suggestions. I'm the kind-hearted moderator; Laura is more of the dictatorial type.
I would like to meet once every two months or so. The discussion leader for each session will be chosen at random to choose the book (anything goes) and to guide our chat. I'm hoping to be able to meet at one of the hipster coffee houses like Common Grounds or Coffee Times. The logistics of that can be worked out at a later date.
The chosen book(s) can be posted on here for all to see. The group has its own "bookshelf" on this site.
That's basically it. If this m.o. works for you guys, then I will go ahead and kill a chicken, toss the bones and read the tea leaves to determine our first group leader!
If you DO NOT wish to be chosen, then just holla. If you REALLY, REALLY want to be a discussion leader, then "tips" are appreciated ;)
Cheers,
Jason
