What Is Left the Daughter, by Howard Norman takes place in Nova Scotia, mostly in the village of Middle Economy. It's one of my NS reads.
White Heat The author is not Canadian, but the book takes place in a modern-day, albeit fictional, village on Ellesmere Island.
Hi, I'm Michele. I live in Alberta, and I love CanLit. I work in a library, so I have easy access. Our book club there read across Canada a couple years ago. When I get back to work I'll post the list, although some of the titles we read have already been mentioned.
The List so far: NWT:
The Moon of Letting Go: And Other Stories (Library book)
Ontario:
Any Known Blood: A Novel (Own)
Alberta:
Second Skin (Own)
The Lesser Blessed: A Novel takes place in the NWT and is by a NWT author. Coppermine takes place in the NWT, Alberta, and Nunavut.
Above the Falls
Having Faith In The Polar Girls' Prison
I think I'll just go randomly, starting with The Moon of Letting Go: And Other Stories by NWT author Richard Van Camp. One of my other "readalutions" is to read through my to-be-read stack, and I'm sure that some of those books are Canadian.
