Meh - my least favorite so far - I agree wiath Karli though - had some of the sub-plots been developed further it could have been so much better. Only a 2.5 for me.
I really enjoyed Bring Up the Bodies - 4.5 stars. Here is my review on BookerMarks:http://bookermarks.wordpress.com/2012...
Victoria - I must agree that the language of this book is simply amazing and I would be drawn to read Tan Twan Eng's first book The Gift of Rain just because of his skill in evoking all of the senses. However, I really had a hard time connecting with the characters and the book seemed disjointed to me in the way it foreshadowed events - the author held your hand and led you directly to the ending.
I really liked Harold and I will agree with the pilgrims. I wish that had been edited out, or as Jackie stated, I wish Harold told them off. I also did not care for his wandering around haplessly after the pilgrims, but even then, it was a cute book.
Ha! Something tells me it is going to be a good book. I am hoping it will be a nice buffer between World Without You and Bringing Up the Bodies. Hopefully I can get both of them done before Garden Mists comes out.
