The title itself is part of a quote, from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar: "The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars / But in ourselves" (p. 111 of TFIOS). In Hazel and Augustus's case, however, the fault is "in their stars." However, they have different ways of dealing with the fate that life has handed them. What did you think of their differing outlooks and philosophies?
