Robert’s comments from the Wicca group.

I came to the Craft in 1989 after leaving the Roman Catholic Church. I have been Solitary several times, have served as High Priest for two covens (one of which I helped to found). I hold initiations in Garnerian and Protean traditions, and have been active in developing new lines of philosophy and schools of thought. My lineage includes the late author and Priestess Judy Harrow.

My beliefs have evolved over the years, incorporating lessons learned from a variety of sources, including some native faiths, Buddhism, animist beliefs. In all of that, however, I have carefully avoided co-opting practices or beliefs from faith systems not my own. Rather, when I come across a Truth, I strive to find a way to express it from within the Wiccan context. For example, the concept of "namaste" is a powerful one, but from within our faith might best be expressed by saying "Thou art Goddess/God", which carries the meaning without outright stealing the word. I continue to refine this method as I learn.
