Dante Sackville, the Duke of Dorset, is portrayed in the gossip columns as an egotistical Tory who cares more about his looks than he does about the lower class, and the columnists aren't far from the mark. Beatrice Radford is supposed to be finding a husband, but as an aspiring journalist, she is drawn to social causes and tries to bring them into the London assemblies her mother forces her to attend. When Dante decides to get closer to Beatrice without revealing that he is a Duke, their different worldviews clash.

Soon, Beatrice exposes Dante to a side of London life he has never experienced, but Dante peels back Beatrice's own shell, exposing that she is self-centered in the pursuit of her career at any cost. Will they be able to put aside their selfish desires to claim their love?
