I've started a new book called Son Of The Mob - Hollywood hustle by Gordon Korman. I am on page 26 out of 168. This book is in a 3rd person POV. This POV influence the book b/c it lets the reader know what the character is thinking during the time of the event. If it was only told is a 1st person point of view i think the book wouldnt be as interesting. I can trust korman POV. This book is good. I like it. I really do. Yeah.
The books I've read during SSR is Dear John, I've left off at page 138 when john was about to read the letter Savannah left him to read on plane to the military base. I life lesson I've learn is that anyone can fall in love no matter how tuff you are, and anyone can be scared, because John wasn't expecting to fall in love with anyone when he came back from the army and then he fell in love when he first saw Savannah, he was also scared of going back to the army. One of the reason is because he was afraid of losing Savannah to someone else. The book Dear John didn't had any impact of me.
I do feel like reading during SSR from the beginning of the school year has improved my ready skills a bit.
I've stop there and started ready a new book called Son Of The Mob : Hollywood Hustle By Gordon Korman
I'm currently on page 9 , I've started reading that book yesterday On January 8 2013 And so far I'm really enjoying SSR.
Dear JohnCurrently on page 49
this is my first book.
- One major conflict is when John joined the army to try and do something with his life other then collect coins with his father again after high school, (Character vs. self )
- Another conflict that join face is when he returned to base ( Military headquarters ) He re-enlist himself after he the 911 attack in NYC because he felt like he have to help prevent things like that, ( Character vs. self )
Those are the two major conflict that john faces.
Im currently reading the book Dear John by Nicholas Sparks. I am on page 19 out of 276.The main character, John is very intelligent and have a very unique bond with his father. John and his father collects coins for a living and spend mostly all their money on coins, John live with his father only because his mother left before he was even 1 years old. John family near poor since his father is a mails man and spend most of their money involving coins. As i read further into the story John started to get in trouble such as cutting class , drinking, failing class, then John's father grounded him for coming home late escorted by a police officer. Then John Raged at his father and told him he want nothing to do with coins again, then John and his father grew apart. After graduating high school John decide to join the military.
Those are the characters i came across so far.
