The book i just read is the Outsiders by S.E Hinton. The setting of the book is Tulsa Oklahoma. The setting was in a rich neighborhood and a poor neighborhood.The setting had an impact because the social classes fought against each other. The charecters in the story are judged on where they come from and their money.

I read two books this year for SSR. I read The Choice last quater and I just finshed The Hunger Games. The life lessons I got from the Hunger Games was that you become stronger from beeing in hard situations. Also, tht working together gives you a better chance of winning. Team work makes things easier on everyone and splits jobs and responsibilty. The last thing I learned was that you cant let people intimidate you. You need to stand strong and worl hard until the very end. Over alll, I had a good experience with SSR. I dont read unless I have to usually but I read pieces of the Hunger Games independently and enjoyed it. This is probably one of the only books that have had an impact on me.

The SSR book I am reading is The Hunger Games by Susan Collins. It is my first book. I am on page 150. One connection I can make with my book is "text to world". I can relate The Hunger Games to the world because like in The Hunger Games, you need to fight and make sacrifices for yourself and people and things you love in real life. Katniss had to fight in the games so her sister didn't have to, even if it meant her dying. Another connection I can make it "text to self". I can relate my life to The Hunger Games because like Katniss, I've fought for people who mean alot to me before.
