((I'm still here, so I shall reply...))Luke surveyed the room and made up his mind. Enough was enough. He strode into the kitchen and planted himself between his brother and Beatrice. "Enough." He didn't shout, he just spoke clearly and firmly. Silence reigned in the kitchen at last. "What's done is done, nothing we do now will change the past, so lets just move on."
Beatrice and David's yelling reverberated around the house getting steadily louder and louder as their argument intensified. Luke paced around the living room, wishing that they would stop.
Hiya! Caroline, can't they all come into house 1 what with people not being active and stuff? ooh reshuffle!
"I'll get it for you Lacey." She turned her back on the whole room and went to the kitchen. "We'll help." David pulled his brother into the kitchen after Beatrice. The sudden violently loud shout from David could probably be heard throughout the whole house, and it was so loud that Beatrice dropped the glass she was holding over the sink. "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?! DON'T YOU REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED LAST TIME YOU DECIDED TO SNEAK OUT ON US LIKE THAT! HOW COULD YOU..."
Beatrice cut him off before he could get into his full swing. "Well how could have told everyone I left? Why didn't you keep it quite like last time? This whole song and dance isn't my fault. I WAS DOING SOMETHING NICE!"
Luke simply got a new glass out of the cupboard, filled it with water and left the two of them to their screaming match. "They'll be at it for a while." He said to the room full of people as he handed Lacey the glass.
((No worries, so have I! also totally forgot my character's name for a minute there...oops))"You didn't know I was going." Stated Beatrice simply without looking at Rissy. "Plus you don't know how I got out, where exactly I went nor how I got back in without alerting someone. Its called plausible deniability." She turned around and calmly looked Rissy in the face. "They wouldn't kill you because you know nothing." She turned away again. "Now has everyone stopped yelling at me?"
"Yeah, but I only went down the road to the..." She paused suddenly and exchanged a glance with her doctor friend. "Well," she continued hesitantly, "I only went down the road so it's no biggie." She tried to smile innocently, but got the feeling that she wasn't fooling anyone."
((I don't know, I posted and no one replied so I just thought every one had gone))"Erm, I got some help." Beatrice said sheepishly. She should have expected all the questions and stuff, after all thats what had happened last time she had snuck out. Luke and David were avoiding her and she knew that David especially would have a few choice words to say to her as soon as he got her alone.
"Don't be daft Kari, of course you need help." Said Beatrice not unkindly. David and Luke avoided Ash's look and pretty much everyone else in the room. They were just glad she had made it back unscathed, so far. David muttered something under his breath and went off into the kitchen.
"Whoa, whoa. Calm down Kari. Look, I'm fine." She smiled reassuringly. "And soon you will be too. My friend here can work magic on wounds."
"Erm, yeah?" Beatrice looked around at all the stunned faces. "Ok, what is going on, you all look like you are seeing a ghost." She gestured to the old man who had followed her in and silently pointed to Kari and Lacey. "This is a friend of mine, he's a doctor. We can trust him, he's been helpful in the past." She glanced side ways at David before sitting in an empty arm chair.
Luke and David looked up at the ceiling as they heard Echo call down the stairs. "We know." Shouted back David, he had always been noisier than Luke. "Come downstairs and eat something!""Oh for goodness sake. I did not disappear, I just stepped out for a moment." Beatrice's voice came from the front door. She was followed by an old grey haired man who looked rather nervously around him. "I brought back some help." She smiled weakly at David and Luke.
"Ash, your not helping." Said Luke sternly. "If we don't help each other then who will? Pass that to Lacey." He held out a bowl of pasta and gestured to where Lacey was still lying. David patted Kari reassuringly on the shoulder again before getting up and pouring himself a cup of coffee, he didn't feel like eating anything, he began pacing again.
"Don't be ridiculous Kari, its nobody's fault." Luke handed her sister a bowl of pasta so she could help Kari eat. "Tea, coffee or hot chocolate?" David placed a hand on Kari's shoulder and smiled down at her. "Why would you think it was your fault?" He asked gently.
Luke got suddenly to his feet and went into the kitchen without saying a word. A lot of clanging and swearing followed for a few minutes before silence, and then he re-emerged holding a large, flat piece of wood as if it were a tray. Balanced on top of the make shift tray was a massive bowl of pasta, a handful of cutlery and a pot of tea, a pot of coffee and a pot of hot chocolate. "We might as well have something to eat and drink." He set the 'tray' down on the floor and sat cross-legged next to it, gesturing for the others to join him.
Turning away from the window David began to pace restlessly around the room, biting his nails in agitation. Luke, perched on the arm of one of the sofas, watched his brother pace and worry. Luke suspected that his brother had deeper feelings for their friend than he was willing to admit. It would be interesting to see what he did when she finally came back.
