Hello! I'm Joseph Michael (or just Joe) Owens, author of the collectio[novella] Shenanigans! (Grey Sparrow Press, 2012) and have written for [PANK], The Rumpus, The Houston Literary Review, and Specter Literary Magazine. I'm also the current blog editor for InDigest Magazine and the web content editor for The Lit Pub. I currently live in Omaha with four dogs and one wife.

I'm mostly into postmodern/meta-fiction, but lately I've been really [back] into sci-fi and fantasy; perhaps they're a kind of post-MFA indulgence!

Currently planning to read [soon]: Peter Tieryas Liu's Watering Heaven, Michael Seidlinger's My Pet Serial Killer, Herta Müller's The Hunger Angel, Kyle Muntz's VII, Judith Schalansky's Atlas of Remote Islands, Eddy Rathke's Ash Cinema, Joanna Russ's The Female Man and countless others!

Reading Asimov's Foundation trilogy and really liking it! I've been taking a slight — though, not complete — break from literary fiction to catch up on "hard science fiction" (a term I only recently learned was an actual thing). Good times!
