In the book "Outsiders" written by S.E. Hinton my characters name is Dally which is short for Dallas. the most significant problem Dally faces is being the toughest of the Greasers. One reason is because he is the type of person it would be difficult to classify as a 'hood' or a 'greaser'. Also, hes this tough, scary looking guy,but when it comes to Johnny, Dally is really relaxed.
In the realistic fiction book "The Absolutely True Diary Of a Part Time Indian" by Sherman Alexie one role Arnold played was being hopeful. Arnold was hopeful because he knew he would have a better life at Reardan and would have more advantages. Another example is that Rodger had hope in Arnold which gave Arnold hope to try out for the basketball team.Arnold still believes in influential roles. One reason is because Arnold said half the boys on the basketball teams would drop out of high school half because its tough the other half because someone told them to. Another reason is that he knows that most Indian kids on the reservation would drink and have an addiction due to their parents. (just like Mary who got drunk and passed away)
In the realistic fiction book ATD book written by Sherman Alexie He probably named the piece "Superman and me" because he learned how to read from a superman comic. Alexie probably felt like he was inthe comic whenhe was three and learned how to read. Also, his first book created him and transformed into the person he is today. Not to forget, his father loved books and since he loved his father he decided he wanted to love books too.
In the realistic fiction book, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian, by Sherman Alexie, Arnold, a 14-year old Native American that grew up on the Spokane reservation has gone through many things, good and bad. In this quote, "If you let people in your life a little bit, they can be pretty damn amazing." Arnold is referring to Roger. I know this because Arnold had punched Roger in the face in the beginning of the school year. But later Roger lends him money and drives him home from school on some days. He wasn't expecting this from what he did to him so Roger is who Arnold is referring to.One moment in my life that I can relate to this is in the second grade. I had been sitting with my Sulema we had been friends since kindergarten. We decided to sit next to this one girl who was friendly but didn't know a lot of people. Her name was Joanne, and after a while of hanging out with her we all became friends. We were all such good friends and our parents started talking to each other. After that we did everything together, went to each others birthday parties, we were insepraple. All until MIDDLE SCHOOL.
In the non-fiction novel The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian by Sherman Alexie. The main charter Arnold a 14 year old boy growing up on the Spokane Indian reservation with bullies and friend(s). The chapter "Slouching Towards Thanksgiving" is showing that Arnold feels invisible for a period of time. He only recalls head nods from the "alpha dog." The problem is that Arnold doesn't interact with a lot of people so his social life is decreasing which causes him to "slouch towards thanksgiving."
The quote "to lose is to learn" by Anonymous represents Arnold in the realistic fiction story The Absolute True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. This quote represents Arnold because he lost his best friend and he got a better education out of it. Also, to receive a better education, Arnold must leave the reservation and what he remembers as his friend(s). Arnold also loses the hope of going back to the reservation school with everything that will go back to normal. Everyone will have lost faith in him. This quote represents Rowdy by him losing his best friend and becoming to a more angrier state and would be losing the one thing he cared about. Arnold was the one thing that kept Rowdy refused tat anyone injure and he protected Arnold. the things that Rowdy learns is that people change and you have to learn from what happens. Also how close you were to Arnold before he left.
The role that influenced Arnold's life is the born into being a kid with brain damange. I believe this because Arnold is always supporting the stereotypes. He says that they have seizers daily and they have big hands and feet.Arnold also decribes himself wit a lisp and stutter problem, lopsided eyes and forty-two teeth. Arnold knows that he is different and he doesn't deny it.The role that most influenced me in my life was my sister.Like Monica it is hard to take care of a toddler. They run all over the place because they have no clue of their surrondings. My baby sister LeiLani influenced me to be more responsible. She has influnced me to not take things for granted. And these things i dont regret.
