In the book Outsiders by S.E. Hilton my character is Darry. One of the most significant conflicts in the book with Darry is when during the past his parents had passed away, so it's put alot of pressure throughout the years for him because he is the oldest child and it puts much more responsibilities on him than he is supposed to. Another reason why this is the most significant conflict is because he not only has to take responsibility for himself, but his two brothers also Ponyboy and Sodapop. Also, him being in a gang with his two brothers against another puts even more pressure on him because he has to worry about there saftey at all times which makes his life place in the book much harder to deal with as a big brother.
The definition of community I like the most would be '' A group of interpendent people inhabiting the same enviornment and who share common interests and beliefs. One of thr reasons why I like this definition the most, is because most of these communities involve these things and it generalizes the whole meaning of community. Like for example, sharing common interests. most communities have that kind of relationship with each other liking keeping the community safe, and helping certain people, Or helping the community with fund issues and other issues most communities have. Another reason why I like this definition of community is because it involves most common activities of the community like having common beliefs. For example, like having certain religions like christianity and others which is most common in a community.
My reserch paper is about how Hip-Hop and Rap music can have a negative affect on teens. During my research I had learned that Hip-Hop and rap music can cause teens do act on violence. Also, how it can cuase young teens to have sex at a very early age; therefore, it affects there future and there life style as a young teen. One very interesting I learned about my topic is that most teens that listen to Rap music are involved in drugs, and somehow ,how some of the lyrics in a certain of these rap songs incorage violence, but most importanly drugs and how teens die at a very young age because of how much influence it has on them as kids. The reason why I was most interested in this topic is because I felt it was something that wasn't being spocken about too often, and it was also something not many people really payed attention to. Another reason why I chose this topic was because I felt like it would be most interesting to talk about, and many kids in the school loved listening to Hip-Hop and Rap music and many of them had these affects like doing drugs, violence or having sex at a early age.
In the book ''The Absolute True Diary Of A Part Time Indian''by Sherman Alexie, the one big role that has most influenced arnold is being hopeful. Arnold on role is being hopeful because he felt he was going to get a better education moving to rearden, also having a better life and become something more than waht he already is. Even though arnold has been stereotyped throughout his whole life about being a native american, and how a large amount of them don't get to succeed in life, or just don't make better of themselves then to get drunk all the time and so on ans so forth. Also, before arnold was able to come out of the depression stage he was in and starting soemthing new. For example, playing basketbal, he believed that it was possible for him to become a better basketball player and becoming something even better becoming an NBA player. Also, being able to notice that since he was able to join the basketball team in rearden, it gave him more hope in becoming something better.I think arnold still beleves in influential roles, because during the loss of his sister mary, even though it was hard for him especially because of the fact that she died form a situation involving alcohol which happened in most of his family's recent deaths. He was still able to accept the fact that she made somthing better of herself. Also, she was able to find somebody she could somewhat spend herlife with, and he still loved her. Another example, him being able to join the basketball team including his whole life being bad at everthing he does,. Then finding something he is truly good at with the support of his coach and team mates in rearden.
In the realistic fiction novel by Sherman Alexie The Absolute True Diary of a Part-Time Indian the main character in the book 14 year old Arnold struggles through many things inside his life living on a spokane reservation. Including being bullied many times, and not feeling appreciated in life. While Arnold had spent a good amount of time with the ''populer kids'' including his crush penelope. He began to notice some things that he hasn't been paying attention to in his life. Like being able to speak to other people and notice that not all the people he was talking to always has some racist thing to say about him. Which most explains this quote ''if you let people into your life a little bit, they can be pretty damn amazing.''This quote sates that sometimes if you bring more people inside your social life, you might be able to get to meet new personality's and it might make you feel better in life and make you feel appreaciated in life. One moment in my life that somewhat relates to Arnolds quote is when I was joing a chorus group. I remember being afraid of joining the group because I thought everybody would judje me because my voice wasn't good enough. At, one moment I felt really nervous because I was getting ready to audition right after this girl with a beautiful voice and i felt I would never be able to compare to her. I also felt that if I asked anybody for help they would think I wasn't really prepared. Then, one girl that was already inside of the chorus she told me that im going to do just fine and that I shoudn't worry to much. I felt much more confident and thought that there's always somebody there for me when im in need.
In the realistic fiction novel by Sherman Alexie, The Absolute True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, the main character 14 year old Arnold has been living in the rez for a while and he has experienced many things. Also, having to deal with being bullied for most of his life. I think the most influential role in Arnolds life is being Native American. Most of his life Native Americans are known to not accomplish many things in life and also are known as being poor and uneducated people. Which was one of the reasons why he was getting bullied most of the time other than just his physical apperance. Also, has caused him to believe the stereotypes that were being said about him being a Native American. BUt, one thing he hasent noticed is that somethings he did accoplish like transfering to another school.
In the realistic fiction novel by Sherman Alexie The Absolute True Diary Of A Part-Time Indian,14 year old Arnold has spent almost his whole life on the rez. I think about the chapter is called ''slouching Towards Thanksgiving''because during this chapter he mostly spends his time a alone. Also usually when he ''slouches'' it's because he feels like he has nobody to talk to. Most of his friends live in the rez which gives him hardly anytime to spent time with them. Which leads him to become depressed. I also think he probably felt guilty about leaving his best friend rowdy because he's the only friend he ever had throughout living in the rez. I also predict sooner or later he's going to have somebody who can relate to him as much as he would expect.
In the my opinion the quote "There is perhaps nothing so bad and so dangerous in life as fear" by jawaharal nehru i think it best relates to arnolds and rowdys relationship in the book The Absolute True Diary Of a Part Time indian by sherman alexie. In the relationship between arnold and rowdy, arnold is mostly the one with the fear of rowdy in the reltationship. Like for example, when arnold made a desision to go to another school he was afraid to tell rowdy because of the way he knows he reacts to certain situations, and when he told rowdy, rowdy got madp and screamed at him and called him names. Which is the messed up part of their relstionship. Also relating to this quote it applies it applies to rowdy by just basically the way he acts around Arnold and other people. One issue that rowdy has to deal with is anger. So instead of just talking things out he takes the hard way and yells and screames and also making the person feel bad themselves. I think one of the reasons why rowdy acts this ways isdind because he has alot of fear in his life. Maybe he's afraid of lo

The role that I think was most influential in Arnold's life would be him being a Native American One of the reasons why is because he always seems to blame all of the things he does based on because he's native american. Which makes him want to hate his background even more. Another example would be about his education. He thinks that the reason why he doesn't get enough education is because he is Native American. One of the problems that stand out the most to him would be being poor. Which has to do with using the same books from old generations or never being able to buy the newest clothes in style so their clothes are cheap. One role that most influenced me in my life was being a christian. one of the reasons why would be because everybody would think negatively about me. Like saying my religion is too strict, and that we all hate gays, which is not true. maybe it can be true to some extent but, it does't automatically mean that i am against gays or i judge people on a certain way on how they look. Like for example, my grandma she's really strict when it comes to religion like she thinks listening to pop music is bad but that doesn't mean i believe on what she says is true.
