4/29: Rumble? (13 new)
Apr 29, 2013 05:32PM

78713 Ponyboy decided to fight because he was loyal to the greasers and it felt like it was something he had to do, because he was a greaser. This shows that being loyal is sometimes not a good things for many reasons. Another reason why ponyboy wanted to fight in the rumble is because he wants to show everybody that he isn't scared and is willing to fight.

Ponyboy isn't right to fight for many reasons. Ponyboy isn't right to be fighting in the rumble because there is no reason to fight and there is nothing to fight for. Another reason why ponyboy isn't right to fight is because he said " I shouldn't fight, I ain't even a hood I'm just a greaser." I think that ponyboys decision was wrong because he could have easily decided not to fight because there was no reason for him to be fighting in the rumble because nothing happend that is worth fighting for.
4/22 Change (12 new)
Apr 22, 2013 05:38PM

78713 Ponyboys attitude towards Darry has changed at the end of chapter 6 for many reasons. For example when Ponyboy. Had seen Soda and Darry after the accident when the whole church was lit on fire. In the hospital where he saw them he had saw that Darry. This shows that pony yo loves and respects Darry more because it showed that he cared about ponyboy. Another example how ponyboys attitude changed toward Darry is, when Darry and soda showed up to the hospital and made ponyboy feel good. This shows that ponyboy appreciated that they came to visit him in the hospital and was worried about him.
3/19: Conflict (14 new)

78713 In the realistic fiction book "The Outsiders" by S.E Hinton my character is Soda. The biggest conflict is that soda dropped out of high school. Another big conflict that involved soda is, he always calmed down Dally when she argues with pony boy, and that affected him I guess in a positive way because it teaches him how to work with people and understand how they are feeling.

78713 I chose definition #1 "a group of people that share and environment and have common interests and goals." I chose the as the best definition because in my opinion you can't really define "community" better than that and it has all the parts that would describe or make up a community. Therefore definition #1 is the best definition for the word "community."
2/15-2/17: Topic (10 new)
Feb 19, 2013 10:48AM

78713 The topic of my research paper is, who is the best player ever on the Knicks. during this research paper I have learned so many things I never knew and some very interesting things. Before I did this research paper I never knew that Patrick Ewing was the best Knicks player of all time I thought it might have been Walt "Clyde" Frazier but now that I compare their statistics Patrick Ewing is defiantly better than Walt Frazier. Another thing that I have had learned is that Carmelo Anthony is not even in the top ten best Knicks players of all-time but I think he eventually will be. During this research paper I enjoyed to research events topics and arguments that I am interested in and hope to do it again.

78713 In the book "The Absolutley True Diary Of a Part Time Indian" by Sherman Alexie the most influential role to Arnold is hopeful and I say this because if Arnold never had hope he would have never went to rearden and if he didn't have hope he would have never followed his dreams of being famous.

I think that Arnold still believes in the power of roles on peoples life because Arnold's best friend Rowdy has a role and it is aggresive and it is a factor in his life because it intimidates people and it effects the way people view him.

78713 I think the reason why alexie named his piece "superman and me" is because I think he thinks he is better now than the old him and he has improved in life socially and he relates to the other story by both kids having alcoholic dad's and moving to new places and they both struggled being the new kid in the school.
11/7: Amazing (14 new)
Nov 07, 2012 05:17PM

78713 In the realistic fiction novel "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian" By Sherman Alexie. the main character is Arnold. He is a 14 year old boy who is from a spokane rezervation. when Arnold said “If you let people into your life a little bit, they can be pretty damn amazing.” I think what Arnold means when he says this is if you get to know someone better and if they know you better you realize who they reallly are, and I think he is referring to Penelope.

I had a moment like this but a little different. It was the first time I met my uncle Frank and I never heard of him until I met him and I realized how much I liked him and wish that I had met him wat before.

78713 In the fiction novel The Absolutley True Diary of a part-time Indian by Sherman Alexie I think that Arnold is slouching in life because he is trying to hide himself from everyone because of his appearence but secretly he wants to stand out in a good way because he want's to be famous. I think the chapter Slouching Toward Thanksgiving is named that because maybe Arnold is hiding from something that is going to happen on Thanksgiving or he is hiding from something and on Thanksgiving he will do something unpredictable.

78713 The quote “There is perhaps nothing so bad and so dangerous in life as fear.” reminds me of Arnold and Rowley in the book, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian by Sherman Alexie. This quote mostly directs to Arnold Arnold is a kid that has a very odd looking appearance and is an Native American most people think that Native Americans are stupid, poor, or have nothing to look foward to for the rest of his life but Arnold does. That is Arnold’s biggest fear now. He moves to a rich school called Rearden full of white people and he is scared. He is mostly afraid of being made fun of how he looks being the only Native American. Arnold also has a fear, but it was not the first time. Back in the Native American school in the rez he was also made fun of for how he looked He didn’t have to be scared. Fear is also happening in Arnold’s life whenever he goes somewhere and he no longer needs to be scared. If he needs a good career and is hopeful, he needs to leave behind whatever that is blocking him from achieve

The quote also kind of direct's to Rowley who happends to be Arnold’s best and only friend. Rowdy is very different than Arnold, but they are still friends protecting one another. Arnold is a very hopeful person, also wants a way better education. Rowdy is different than Arnold, he is a tough guy that always fights and is aggressive. He also has anger issues. Rowdy always get mad at stuff and start beating it. That is one of the fears he has. Having no fear is when things are peaceful, but not to Rowdy. Rowdy always gets in fights to pass his fear because he is not afraid and thinks it isn’t bad. Up to the part we read in class, Arnold told Rowdy he was leaving. Rowdy was upset and he was afraid, he was so upset it turned into anger and got so mad that he passes the fear by punching Arnold in the face.
10/15: Trait (11 new)
Oct 15, 2012 04:00PM

78713 In the book, The Absolutley True Diary of Part-Time Indian the main character Arnold has many traits but the one trait I think describes him the most is fustrated because, in the book it seems that Anold is fustrated alot and i think that because he said " It's not like they gambled away their family fortunes. My family came from poor people who came from poor people who came from poor people who cam from the very first poor person" and this quote shows that Arnold is fustrated because, he explains his family has been poor since Adam and Eve.
