79311 I've read 28 of these. Though I still plan to finish the Modern Library and Time lists, this one wins for having included Gene Wolfe. Yet another list to finish...

79311 Have completed:
Flannery O'Connor (after rereading the nonfiction I will have read everything twice)

Walker Percy (Two essay collections away from a second lap with him as well)

I'm interested in completing the following:

Cormac McCarthy (so close!)
Gene Wolfe (I've read 29 so far)
Elmore Leonard (only person by whom I've read 30+)
Graham Greene
Vladimir Nabokov
David Foster Wallace
Mark Helprin
Tim Powers
David Mitchell
Octavia Butler
Ron Chernow
Frederick Buechner
Jeff Vandermeer
Marilynne Robinson
Nick Hornby (I only need to read his YA novel and I'm done)

Not sure how strongly I feel about finishing these, since most of what I haven't read seems outside of the core of their bodies of work, but I've read so many I might as well:
Michael Chabon
Jonathan Lethem

There are others who may float onto this list, but for now that's it.

79311 I have completed Flannery O'Connor (she died too soon and left a small catalog) and I'm two essay collections away from having finished reading all of Walker Percy twice.

Congrats to those who polished off McCarthy. I'm a screenplay and a play away from joining you in that accomplishment.

79311 The only one I'm really confident I'll finish next year is Cormac McCarthy. I have two plays (the Gardener's Son and The Stonemason) though I suppose I'll have to read the screenplay to the disappointing The Counselor.

I also want to make progress towards finishing up Gene Wolfe, Elmore Leonard, Vladimir Nabokov, Tim Powers, Mark Helprin, Jeff Vandermeer, DFW, Graham Greene, Octavia Butler and William Gibson. I'm closer with some than with others.

I'm almost done with a second lap of Walker Percy. I just need to reread two essay collections and his letters with Shelby Foote
