Good news ladies! We are going to have an outside BYOB book club meeting on July 23rd! It will be at 6 pm in the empty lot. Bring Your Own Chair. We will socially distance and have masks, but it will give us a chance to meet in person. If it rains, we will reschedule!
Hello BYOB group! Whew, it's been a crazy June! Hope you are all well and have had a chance to read. There are a couple days left in June to share your favorites! The library is open now! Yeah! Limited number of patrons, you have to wear a mask, and returns must be dropped in the outside box, but you can come in and browse and check out books. Please use the lower level entrance.
Hello everyone! Hope you are all safe and well! It's hard to concentrate during these strange times, but reading does help me stay sane. Please share the books you have read for June and post comments in the disucssion post so we can comment. Is anyone baking? Share your photos with us. Ida will also be starting a Quarantine Cookbook soon, so if you cook or bake, save those favortie and easy recipes to include in the cookbooks. More details will be posted on Facebooks.
Better Homes and Gardens The Ultimate Casseroles Book. I checked this on out on Overdrive for new recipe ideas. I love casseroles but my kids do not, so any cookbook I can find with a recipe they like is a good one! I made the Chicken Enchilada casserole.

Sounds like it would be good and I like Rhys Bowen. I am adding to my reading list!
Place your comments about the books you read for May here so we can reply. You can also add reviews to the Bookshelf when you add the book, but the rest of the group cannot comment in Bookshelf.
This was a quick and interesting read. Short memoirs from the children of famous men about what they were like as fathers. Full of fascinating details like how Salk injected his kids with polio vaccine in their own kitchen long before it was cleared for public use. A great book to have if you are waiting for an appointment or don't want a longer read.
I wonder if that's where the writer got the idea for that title? She's the author who wrote all the vampire mysteries that became the True Blood tv series and I like all of those but this was a nice change from vampires.
I read this second book in the Gunnie Rose series by Charlaine Harris. The series is set in a post apocalyptic United States which has been sectioned and divided into separate regions. Elizabeth grows up in the tough Western section-dry, deserty, poor, scrappy. Work is scarce and the region is fraught with criminals and road robbers. Travelers through the area need bodyguards, nicknamed Gunnies, to get them through. Enormous amounts of money are paid to the few Gunnies brave enough to face dangerous criminals while keeping their charges safe. Elizabeth determines to be the best Gunnie around and eventually achieves the title of Gunnie Rose. She and her crew are the best and this second novel is as good as the first, full of adventure, surprises, and a strong female lead.
