Yes indeed! Today, 10th September, 2013, is a Red Letter Day for me! My first self-published novel, Part 4 of G1: The Guardians, is now available as an ebook, paperback and hardback!
Reviews of books in the G1: The Guardians series have been exceedingly encouraging! If you've read one or more of them, please do consider submitting a review! Remember: I'm happy to receive
honest
reviews!
The next instalment of the series asks questions of myself, let alone readers! I have, quite deliberately, and with no sense of shame, looked at the facts, myths and other data about certain things. Finding that those researches rendered very unsatisfactory results, I have set much that is accepted aside. In one case, I have quite blatantly rejected 'fact' in favour of an alternative that suits my story. This raises questions: Is such 'mutating' of things wrong? Can it ever be right to discard centuries of knowledge and/or tradition for the sake of fiction? I know how I feel about it. I don't know how others feel!I wonder...
Throwing this open to all! What's your favourite? Do you like a rigid adherence to a genre, perhaps with a sub-category? Do you like mixed genre pieces - even if the genre mix is rather surprising? Are you inclined to a particular, general genre? I'd love to hear from you! And no, you don't have to relate your answers to my works!
If you happen to like this series, you may be pleased to know that there are plenty more tales to come! I'm currently working on a new one, which will be even longer with more action. I'm hoping that this will increase the appeal of the books. While there's violence in the stories, I'm doing all I can to avoid getting involved in gorefests, and trying to make the action believable and exciting.
The Sigil of Ahriman, a novella, is my longest published book to date. It's the third tale in the G1: The Guardians series.
For the Sake of Mercy is a novelette featuring the good captain and his loyal crew. Check my blog post for download links.
There is a new folder, for discussions about the Captain Henri Duschelle Stories. This will be a growing series of ebooks including: To Sail The Dark Sea and For the Sake of Mercy
I have recently (15th March) released my first novelette. It's a horror/future fiction tale. There is a discussion folder now available on the Group.
I've edited all the book title entries here (on Goodreads) to indicate that they are all part of this series. Nothing has changed as far as the books are concerned.
I have written and published two short story ebooks as part of a series. The first (and yes, it should be read first, is
and the second, which is partially a preuel and partially parallels Thief is
. It's quite possible that others will follow!
I've just produced a short video advertisemnet for my short story ebooks. I'd be interested to know if you think it could be improved and how.You can find it on YouTube or in this Group's videos.
I'm surprised. Very surprised. I would have thought that Indie authors would have snapped up any opportunity to get exposure. A little while back, however, I invited authors to participate in my blog, by completing a simple author interview questionnaire and/or by publicising their works more directly by guest posts. So far, I've received a sum total of ZERO responses! I find that rather astonishing.
Please don't be shy. I don't bite - well, not hard or often! I'm happy to answer questions or respond to comments. All I ask is for politeness and sensitivity. Please try to remember that my works are very personal to me, and involved considerable effort.Thank you!
