Awesome!! I'm almost to 25k this time last year I was done with the 50k. I was also unemployed though.
Good. Only did 800 words today but between work, school and feeling icky I think it's good. How's your word count coming?
Get ready for battle. Put the drinks away from the computers, shut the doors and do whatever you have to in order to get in the mood. Word wars are coming! We set a certain amount of time and type as quickly as we can. Blood may be involved. In this case, whoever has the highest word count at the end wins the round!
This is where we all sit down for a predetermined amount of time and type until our little fingers bleed. We're not here to compare numbers or have ourselves a mini word war. We're here to encourage everyone to write and to keep writing.
Saw this from last year and I stole it to start it up again. =PYes, you read it right. This is profile wars. It is has all the same rules as word war except you win by making the most profiles. This game is to encourage and help people build there characters more. Although many people don't think it will help, it actually can build your story more by giving each character a background. No this does not mean you have to make every character a MC or show their life story in your novel. But it does help for you to know your characters even the least important ones. It can be anyone from side character to MC or their pets. The profiles have to be a basic profile. Ex.

Guess what! We're into the first week of NaNo! OMG *gasp* This is insane!!Tell me what are you guys writing, how are you writing it, and how is writing going so far this month!
awesome! Camp NaNo is a great way to do that!! How is it going for you so far?So glad to have another writer in the group who does sci-fi and crime! Love those two, and combining them? wow.
Hola!! I'm Adrian! This camp I'm working on my sequel and third and final book in my first series. Sequel to Forever Burn, which you can find on my page. I'm aiming for 75k which should complete the novel! It's urban fantasy with awesome twists and action.
The new book and current WIP is called Ashes Fall. I'm ready for the series to be dove but positive that I'll be devastated when it is!!!
Are you active? (On at least 3-4 times a week for about half hour each time): Yes, I'm online everyday, on goodreads a lot (love the little notifications that go to my phone). How long have you been in this group? (rough estimate) Since NaNoWriMo 2012
Have you ever done a NaNoWriMo before? Yes, in 2012. I also did Camp NaNo (unofficially) in June 2012.
Do you have any experience being a moderator/running an online group? Not an online group, but I moderate and run a writing group that meets weekly locally.
If so, please post three links to your most active/biggest groups:
What do you think you could bring to this group by being a moderator? Great support, ideas, constant contact (since I'm basically always online). Anything that someone wants, I would try to help them to set it up or help to set it up myself. =P
Do you still need some more? I can donate mine in either ebook it print copy format. I can also sign it if anyone wants that. It's called Forever Burn.
There will always be grammatical errors in a text of any length. I ran through each chapter three times, sent to an editor, ran through again, sent to another editor, went through it a final time and turned my manuscript in. I got the manuscript back from the publishing editor with still more changes and then I found even more on top of that. There will always be grammatical errors. The goal, in my opinion, it to eliminate as many as possible and then hope and pray that the plot covers the rest of the mistakes.
I finished around 75k. The story is complete and I'm about 1/3 of the way through my editing process. I'm writing short stories on the side and trying not to plan/plot out the third and final novel of the series.
There are also websites that have volunteers edit and critique your work for free. Just know that it is for free so 1) the edits are not always correct and 2) the critiques are not always professional or helpful. The two I use are
Projectteambeta.com
Scribophile.com
They seems to work well. I know there are other sites out there.
I, personally, both enjoy and hate editing. It's tedious, but I also want it to be the best work I can produce so I try very hard on them. I started editing my NaNo a few weeks ago, but I finished NaNo fast. =P
