Just think, you'll have all the time in the world to read them after the exam. why not buy one as a treat after? then it's something to work towards.
Well done Marikka. My goals for next year are;
1. Finish as many series as possible.
2. Buy more physical copies and less ereader copies.
3. Explore other genres such as sci-fi and thriller/mystery.

Good choices.1. Survival guide (this would be more useful than any fiction)
2. The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson. I'd love to take the whole trilogy but the first book could easily stand on its own.
3. This is really hard. Maybe Cinder by Marissa Meyer, The Silkworm by Robert Galbraith (as of yet unread) or my favourite Harry Potter novel; The Half Blood Prince.

I also recommend The Emperor's Edge.
A good vampire book might be Vampire Academy. It's a quick fun read. I really enjoyed it. The Bone Season is a unique dystopian book with clairvoyants and an alien race. Sounds weird but once I started reading it it became impossible to put down.
Yeah I think you should talk to ger about it first if you let her read it. I thibk she's on the tail end of being a bit young. When she's 14 I'd say it will be fine. I did see a 10 year old reading it a couple of months ago. Really wanted to say something but it wasn't my place and wouldn't stop them reading it.
I usually look through the recommendations section of goodreads, check out books of the month that interest me or read a review that a friend has posted and makes me want to read it. I also do enter giveaways and sometimes find stuff I like on there.
Yeah. They're really powerful and knowledgable too. You should think about how you want to portray them if you do add dragons in. Like in Eragon, dragons can talk to you using their minds, in Game of Thrones they can't talk they're just really dangerous beasts. I haven't read Seraphina yet but in that one they can take human form. Also you should think about how dragons fit into your story. Do they add to it or are you adding them for the sake of it. You should think about creating a history around them. Are there lots of them or only a few left? What is their relationship/history with humans? What are their abilities/limitations? Just some things to think about. Hope that helps :)
I don't count children's books unless they are proper length like harry potter or percy jackson. I often steer clear of novellas unless they're written by an author I really respect.
Name of the Wind is great but yes, it does take a while to read. The sequel is 1000 pages long. Hope the author releases the third book soon :)
Kristie wrote: "Loved the Legend series too. You should try it Katie.g. :)"Haha I will try to get round to it soon!
@Kristie. I thought it would just be ok / mediocre too but I've seen quite a few people on this site say how good it was so I finally gave in. I'm glad I did.
Can't wait to reas Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor. @Colleen. Great selection! The Fault in our Stars, Me Before You and Doctor Sleep are all really great reads!
Been meaning to read Graceling for months and finally got round to it. I'm enjoying it much more than I thought I would :)
Yes it's happened to me before too. Worst was when the harry potter books came out amd people at school used to ruin it for you as a joke. They'd read the last page first. But I managed to avoid all that until the final book when someone mentioned a lot of the characters that died. Luckily I tried to block it out and only remembered two but still, I was upset by it.Currently I'm a little wary of wandering across spoilers for Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor. Annoyingly it is released 9 days after America for anyone living in the UK.
