88432 Something like this? Edit away, especially since the beginning must fit the end of the earlier paragraph.

"We feel lost to the core of our souls, watching the dry land engulfing our ship, with no end in sight. Time is short and Kai is tragically killed in an accidental fall. Fortunately we are somehow caught in a time loop which enables us to save his life against all odds. Still, we see no end to our struggles, a long, long way from home, until a mechanical horse magically appears, explaining to us the secrets of life, the universe and everything. To finish off it instructs us to give up all our possessions and it will take us to security. Thus, with only the clothes on our backs, we are shown the way out of the time loop, but then the grapes again turn sour as the horse abandons us, still stranded in a strange land. This time the landscape is easier to handle, but the society is extremely violent and xenophobic. We did remember to bring our towels though and manage to hitchhike with Ella, who brings us safely to her island community. Here are mainly gathered the ghosts of those killed by the brutal regime, but everyone else is also welcome, even some extraterrestrials from the faraway planet Earth."

Yes it was, I changed it to 9 now. My last book is now also finished.

Will look at your example in the morning, since I now have been awake for 20 hours and am going to sleeeeep.

88432 Yes, sleep is good, also one of my issues at the moment, which is why I'm writing you in the middle of the night. But I have problems virtually everywhere right now, so am a bit stressed out, and yes, it's good to have something else to focus on, and somewhere where you actually can make a difference and where these other matters can be forgotten for a bit. So, thank you all for this! 🥰

And yes, my last book is coming up, last minute, but it will be done this time!

I feel the same as Heather, if I understood what was expected I'd gladly write one of them.

88432 Join the club! I believe most of us have had some issues with our reading during theses last few months. We will manage, but most importantly, we will have some good reading experiences and enjoy the challenge while we do it. Take good care of yourself!

It seems it's contagious.. I got out of it, I hope, by focusing a lot on graphic novels, YA, audiobooks and poetry. And also a lot of music, music, music. Unfortunately most of those doesn't count in UNO, but this month looks a lot better already.

I thought so too, but Tineye says grey...

On the other hand, the black one is now finished, so it doesn't really matter.

OMG thank you! This is now on several of my lists and I will check out the rest of the album (and more) as well, the lyrics are absolutely wonderful.

Life is getting in the way, so my reading isn't going great either, but I will probably be able to move things around by myself, or I'll get back to you during the weekend.

88432 I haven't heard the original actually. My brother has it, but somehow I never got to it, so far. I was planning to listen to the audiobook, read by Stephen Fry, but haven't been in the right mood. I have read them though, about five times...even more for the earlier ones.

Sylvain Neuvel's "Themis files" were also great as audiobooks!
