88964 Love the Thoroughbred Series by Joanna Campbell? Check out North Oak-- the heir apparent to the classic series.

Book 1 - Born to Run:
Meet Alex, an orphan on the run from the law who somehow finds herself on the doorstep of one of Kentucky's prestigious racing farms, North Oak. Swept up in the musical jingle jangle of bit and stirrup, million dollar horse flesh, and the lure of a place to call home, Alex wants more than anything to be a part of horse racing. But the law has not forgotten her and soon comes knocking. Can this newly turned thirteen-year-old find a happily ever after?

Find out spring 2015!

In the meanwhile, you can stay up to date on its facebook page here:

88964 I'm Ann Hunter and I write YA. I'm launching a young adult horse racing series next spring called North Oak. The first book is Born to Run. It is the Thoroughbred Series heir apparent (unless you can tell me about any other YA horse racing series on the market). I fell in love with horses very early in life. My parents bred Arabians and I would run around barefoot with them. I learned the majority of my horsemanship in those early years by getting kicked and nipped when I stepped out of line. I loved every minute. I want to own a racehorse someday. He doesn't have to win the Derby or anything, just bear my colors and show me his heart :)
