8938 What do you think of it?

Definitely Rose for me as well.

It seemed such a cruel fate for Martin after all he'd been through to lose one of the few people who'd come to be like family to him. Not to mention how hard it must have been for Brome and the people of Noonvale.

Probably why Martin the Warrior is my favourite Redwall novel.

8938 Hurray, someone actually posted here!

Are you reading the series right now?

8938 Wow, I had no idea.

I'm kind of in shock.

That's crazy, I didn't hear anything about it.

Rest in peace, Brian Jacques.

You will forever be my favourite author and eternally remembered for your numerous brilliant novels.

Rest in peace.

8938 This place is a graveyard, does anyone post here anymore?
8938 Yeah (*sniffle)...You're probably right though, he needs to find some inspiration but it's one thing to comment on inspiration and quite another to find it.
8938 I know eh? Another thing I really don't understand is why every time Mr. Jacques starts a new book he erases all the characters from the previous one and introduces a whole new cast! If he were to at least preserve the characters from the previous book it would prevent him from just running through the same plot over again.
8938 I'd have to agree. While he is reliable for churning out a good adventure book it seems that he has begun to recycle plots and use the same ones over again.

Castaways would be an excellent opportunity for him to branch out into some new ideas and an unexplored field.
8938 OPENING STATEMENT

The Redwall series has long been one dear to the hearts of many, and I am certain Brian Jacques has earned his place in history as one of the most prolific writers of all time. His originality and beautiful description have all but locked up his position in the Writer's Hall of Fame.

But have his recent books disappointed you? Where is that original spark and why has it gone?
8938 I have enjoyed the Redwall series for 5 years now, and while at first I anxiously awaited the next book's release I now find myself debating whether to buy it at all. Has Brian Jacques lost his touch?

Please feel free to comment.
