9066 I'm just wondering if anyone here has gone beyond trailers for their books and produced little films or animations that expand on the characters... add side stories or extra information?

I started using http://goanimate.com and have put together four short animations. Maybe this site would be useful to others here who want to make trailers or short animated films about their books?

If you've made an animated short, do post a link so we can watch it/them. :o)

Here's my GoAnimate page (my animations are daft):

9066 The way I use my site has evolved over the past twelve months. I didn't know where I wanted to go with it when I started out. I set up a small site, then added a blogger blog, then another, then another. I've realised, as the months have passed, that I'm going to just go on adding content indefinitely... so a big shift was in order to centralise operations. I've just moved everything (well, almost... I'm still doing it) to TypePad, so it's all in one place.

Very pleased with TypePad at the moment... though I'm still trying to figure out why the comment font on the blog pages is so large. So much still to learn.

9066 I don't know whether I'm coming or going. I'm at that point on Twitter where I don't know who I'm following and who I'm not. Jolly good fun, all the same.

9066 A few books on Amazon have a video in addition to the usual publisher info. Does anyone know how to get a book trailer video onto a product description page? I've gone through Amazon's help pages and can't find anything about it. I often get lost in Amazon's help pages, so I could have missed it.

9066 Here's my latest book cover, for The Complete Woodblock Prints of Kitagawa Utamaro... all 612 pages of it.

Janis, above the reply box there's a link 'some html is ok'... click on that and there is html for inserting an image. Just replace the goodreads image address with your own image's address, and change the height and width. I hope that made sense.

9066 Dee, I just used that grader to find out my grade. It's 94 %. I wish I'd got that in my maths exam at school... seems I'm doing better at Twitter.

Has anyone noticed their 'following' number changing when they haven't added/subtracted anyone? Mine is going up and down like a yo-yo and I have not touched a thing.

9066 I've just updated my web site and added a section about old Japan. I was thinking about the things that get me interested in a site, and generally I'll go back if there's interesting info about the background to a book, or the era a book is about... being a mad history nut and all. Anyway, here's my updated section:

9066 I got to 70k last year with one monster (my husband!) running around the house.

It's fun going for the 50k target and knowing so many people are joining in and doing the same... it's like one big game. Better than facebook!

9066 I had great plans of preparing for this year's NaNoWriMo... but I fear that, as the time is ticking away, I shall be starting cold on the opening day, just like last year.

9066 Go on, Eric... do it... join the madness! I am sending subliminal messages now. Resistance is futile (she says, reaching for her Borg implant).

9066 I've decided to relive the madness and do NaNoWriMo again this year... it was totally insane but a whole heap of fun last year. So, anyone else doing it? Want to be a NaNoWriMo buddy?

9066 I persuaded my husband to do it while I had one eye closed and hid behind him :o)

9066 Hi Hugh :o)

Eight hours... wow. I was afraid to look at my first book when it arrived, but I couldn't have managed to put it off for that long.

9066 It would certainly make more sense for new videos to replace older ones when they're added... or for Goodreads to give us the option to choose which one should appear on our profile.

I voted for the video, so you have two votes now... three to go. Good luck.

You have some really lovely photos on your site... night time in Gion is gorgeous. That's something I need on my site... more photos.

9066 Thank you, Dee! :o)

I'm an eternal fiddler. Off to fiddle with one of my blogs now...

9066 I've just updated my website... again! I have kept the basic structure this time, but have given it a bit more colour.

I'm not going to say that this is the final change, as I said that the last six times ;o)

9066 I've found my Kitty... and all is right with the world :o)

9066 Ditto on the darn... I have Hello Kitty slippers, and a spare pair for when these run out. Ok, three spares, but who's counting?
