I ended up going to the Coventry sale which was pretty good. Now, I really must stop going to book sales :)

They were actually quite frightening looking for children's books.
BTW- quite a few book sales around RI this weekend.

How was this Bridget? Quite the title. I like the candy, I mean Brown Bookstore way too much!
Charly, have you visited Plymouth Plantations? You can tour a recreation of the Mayflower and talk to actors playing the parts of the Pilgrims. What struck me was the small size of the ship and the length of the trip. It was also a nightmare for anyone with kids. Very sobering.
There is something so interesting about being shipwrecked and trying to recreate a somewhat reasonable existence. I also find it really interesting when it goes wrong like Lord of the Flies. Some good suggestions here.
Just finished Ruth- incredibly sad. Now reading A Game of Thrones and Les Liaisons Dangereuses. Olga's is good, it's like an authentic French bakery- they are doing you a favor by serving you.

I was definitely wrapped up in the storyline, but now a month later nothing sticks with me as memorable. It was like a sweet treat, good in the moment but then it's gone. I agree with you re: the Eliot's.
I am still stuck on The Sparrow, I can't get that one out of my head!
