This series of book are really interesting even if you don’t like reading, these book will make you read more and more. From my opinion these books are really good for teenagers so they could just relax and laugh at the books and enjoy seeing the pictures. I recommend this book to all kids that love fiction and enjoy reading it. This book has won many awards such as #1 on the New York Times best seller, kids choice awards. This is one of the quotes of Jeff Kinney “You can't expect everyone to have the same dedication as you.”
This book I am reading is called A Man Named Dave by David Pelzer. This book has gotten really interesting. I have always have questions about this book for example why didn’t Dave ever tell on his mom? Was he too scared to tell? Or What did they do to his brothers did they take them away from his mom? This is one of the strongest quotes of this book "All those years you tried your best to break me, and I'm still here. One day you'll see, I'm going to make something of myself. This quote is saying what his mom always told him when he was little and even though she always told him that, he was strong and picks himself up and gave his best effort in life. This book makes me really sad because he doesn’t have the fault of his mom treating him like garbage when he was little and no he has to live through that. This book has won many awards for example JC Penney Golden rule award (1991), California volunteer of the year (1991), Ten outstanding young Americans (1993). I recommend this book to teens because sometimes we don’t appreciate what we have and this book actually makes you think. I am really looking forward to finishing this book
This book has gotten really interesting. But I am still wondering why his mom treated him like that and not his brothers? Why was he different from all the other kids? It thinks this actually happens in real life. This book is very similar to other books such as “Finding Fish” which is about how his family abuses of him and then abandons, also “Puppet Child” it’s about a girl who gets treated like she’s worth nothing. I recommend this book to teens because sometimes we feel like no one cares about us but yet, there are many kids who there parents don’t take care of them or even feed them. My personal reaction is that this book makes me sad because the mother beats the kid and Dave can’t do anything about it. There is many other books by Dave Pelzer such as “A child called it” and “A lost boy”.
“You don’t have what it takes. You never had and never will.”pg (9) this quote really made me sad because mothers do tell their children those mean things and the children do believe it and just bring themselves down. This book it called A Man Named Dave I think this book relates to others books because he wrote 2 other books A child called it and The lost boy. I really recommend this book to teens because it will make them think that they have to appreciate there family. Haven’t you ever wondered what your life will be if your parents never supported you or they just didn’t care about you?
