This is my very long review of a somewhat verbose book... but the exciting perspective I got out of it is summarised in the first few paragraphs... https://stefan-szczelkun.blogspot.com...Also see my Goodreads review of the same book...
Who has written well about working class writers? Ranciere wrote a magisterial study - reviewed here: https://stefan-szczelkun.blogspot.com...But what else is there around?
In the UK 'The Federation of Worker Writers and Community Publishers' in the late C20th was extraordinary and gave rise to writers like screenwriter Jimmy McGovern. History of the FED was just published. Short review here:

Yeh this is great with loads of stuff I never hear of. And it think its better to lean towards some who might not 'belong' ... a too rigid idea of what a working class intellectual might be is not a good idea... Interest in all this is expanding at a rate at the moment. Mostly noticed it on twitter. There's a conference of working class academics just about to take off next week...PS Mack Reynolds be worth looking out for...
Mine so far is 'Sebastian the Great' which contains a shorter story presented as a reading at a (posh) writers award presentation event. The class war presented with chutzpah! Will make working class readers and writers laugh and middle class writers squirm! This is about 'A Working Class State of Mind by Colin Burnett (which I thought would come up as a heading but didn't!
