It might be worth considering. Especially if : -
a. Everyone has prayed for you when you said you
were going to stay with him, forced crucifixes
on you and garlic, and it wasn't because of his
savourless cooking, either.
b. Though he is a snobbish sort of man, you catch
him making your bed and laying the table.
c. You never see him in daylight
and
d. He won't let you communicate with the people back
home.

Mind you, it might be a bit late by then and he might just be an eccentric vegetarian who likes talking all night about the history of Transylvania, so that the people were worried you'd be bored to death...

It makes sense. Regard such a person with extreme suspicion, especially if:

a. Everyone has warned you not to go near him,
